The Romans built the Colosseum, for a large amount of people gather to watch violent games such as gladiator fights. Today in America we have football, where hundreds of people come to an arena to watch other people smash each other. Today these games are not as violent because the goal of the sport is to win and not kill the other team. Football players also have a lot of padding to protect themselves from getting hurt.
